    Not bad, not great.

Some things I like, some things I hate but in all honesty, it is more cumbersome to use as a fermentor than my old modified corny kegs. So much so, I stopped using it unless I'm low on tanks.

    Awesome fermenter

This is an excellent design and fits in a smaller freezer/ kegerator. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. All top grade components and it shows. Great job on this design.

    Great Fermentor - two suggestions

First of all, I wanted to say how much I really enjoy this fermenter with all the gadgets and gizmos. Well thought out! My two suggestions would be:

    1) increase the ID the thermowell. Current ID is 5mm and this is too small for one-wire sensors. I use modified chest freezers for temp control fermentation with an RPI solution. 6mm would have been great.

    2) add volume marking stamps to the inside of the tank. This would help ensure target volumes are transferred in the fermentation vessel. My work around for now is a marked wort paddle. Would love to do away with the paddle and use stamped readings.

Make these two changes and my rating would be 5 star.

    Less cleanup more beer!

I love these kegs! Fermenting and serving out of one vessel saves time and money.

    Worth the Wait

So, I've had this since spring and have used a couple times now - exclusively as a fermenter as I have pretty much fully converted to fermenting in kegs. This is very solid and well built. I also use a chest freezer as a temp controlled chamber, and am still able to close the lid without needing to add a collar. I typically use a floating dip tube from the QD on the 3"TC and blow-off from the Gas-In QD on the side. I also have a hop dropper, so am able to not only do much faster pressure transfers, but also greatly reduce the amount of DO from dry hopping and sampling. The 6.5 gallon volume allows me to retain my typical 5.5 gallon batches.
