The kit is for our stainless steel stills and brew systems  with 1.5" stainless steel ferrules and includes a stainless steel element adapter, a 5500 watt ULWD heating element, and a 9' element cord.

      Great overall, but could use a few small improvements

      So far I have made three batches with this and in general I'm very happy with it. Heats up super fast and once you get used to the interface for setting temperature it's pretty good. Also nice that if it does heat up too quickly and you are starting to get a boil over you can turn off the heating element without adjusting the settings. I have not mounted it yet and probably won't. That's not ideal, but it works. One thing you need to be careful of is the temperature probe that hooks up to the unit. If it pulls out even just a little the reading is no longer accurate. Discovered that when my batch started to boil at 192 degrees and I was trying to figure out what was going on. Probe was maybe a 1/2 inch from all the way in and it resulted in being 10 to 15 degrees off.

      Here's a tip for the temperature probe issue you experienced. After you slide the temperature probe into the thermowell, you need to tighten down the black plastic cord grip. That will snug up the wire and make sure it can't accidentally get pulled out and cause the issue you experienced.
