Start your homebrewing hobby with an easy beer recipe. This American Amber Ale recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's American Amber Ale, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.
American Amber Ale grew up alongside the pale ale on the West Coast, trading some of the pale's brightness for a deeper caramel malt core. The extra crystal malt gives it color and a toffee sweetness that stands up to a firm hop charge, making it the maltier, more balanced cousin of the APA.
The pour is amber to light copper and clear. Special B adds a raisiny depth beneath the caramel, while Centennial and Amarillo bring citrus and stone fruit on top. At around 5% it stays sessionable, and that malt-to-hop balance is what has kept drinkers on the style for decades.
