Brew tasty beer at home with real, fresh ingredients. This Belgian Golden Strong Ale recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Belgian Golden Strong, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.
The Belgian golden strong ale is a modern style with a clear ancestor: Duvel, first brewed around the First World War and reworked into its pale form by the 1970s. The name Duvel earned (Flemish for "devil") suits the whole category. These beers pour a light, innocent gold and hide their strength behind it.
Expect a dry, bright body with spicy and pear-like fruit from the yeast, a soft bitterness, and a warmth that only shows up after a few sips. A portion of simple sugar thins the finish so the beer drinks far lighter than its gravity suggests. At around nine percent, this one sits squarely in that deceptive tradition.
