Brew this classic beer style at home in about five gallons. This Belgian Tripel recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Belgian Tripel, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.
Westmalle gave the tripel its template in the 1930s, and the name has stuck to a very particular trick: a beer that looks like a pale golden ale but carries the strength of something much heavier. Pilsner malt and a dose of candi sugar keep it light in body while the gravity climbs.
The result is deceptive. It pours pale gold under a dense head, tastes of spice, orchard fruit, and a firm hop presence, and finishes dry despite nearly nine percent alcohol. The warmth is there, folded into a beer that drinks far more easily than it should.
