This is an easy beer recipe for a crowd-pleasing pint. This Blonde Ale recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Blonde Ale, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.

The American Blonde Ale is the friendly face of the craft taproom: pale, clean, and easy to drink, meant to welcome newcomers without demanding much of them. It grew out of breweries wanting a house beer that could sit next to mass-market lagers while still tasting like something made with care.

Expect a light gold color, a soft bready malt base, and just enough hop to keep it from turning sweet. A single addition of Cascade lends a gentle citrus and floral note. At 4.2% it is a lawnmower beer in the best sense, refreshing and undemanding, the kind of thing you brew a lot of and never tire of.

  • This kit is built for brew-in-a-bag (BIAB), the simplest way to make all-grain beer at home. The basic brew day looks like this:

    1. Heat your water and steep the milled grain to make wort.
    2. Boil the wort, adding the hops on the schedule in the recipe.
    3. Cool the wort down quickly, then transfer it to your fermenter.
    4. Pitch the yeast and let it ferment for about two weeks.
    5. Bottle or keg, wait for carbonation, then enjoy.

That yields roughly 53 bottles of fresh Blonde Ale. It works great with our digital electric homebrew systems, which hold your temperatures for you, though any kettle and burner will do.

  • This is a recipe kit, so it includes the ingredients only. To brew it at home you will also need:

    • A brew kettle or an electric all-in-one brewing system
    • A grain bag for brew-in-a-bag (or a mash tun for a traditional mash)
    • A fermenter with an airlock
    • A thermometer and a way to chill the wort
    • Sanitizer, and bottles or a keg for packaging
