This is how easy brewing beer at home should be. This Eisbock recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Eisbock, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.
Eisbock is the strongest member of the bock family, made by freezing a finished doppelbock and pulling out the ice to concentrate what remains. The story, likely apocryphal, credits a Kulmbach cellar hand who left barrels out in winter and found the unfrozen core stronger and smoother. Whatever the origin, the method leaves a dark, intense lager with deepened malt sweetness and a warming finish.
At eight percent this recipe sits at the softer end of the style, plenty of body and dark-fruit malt depth without the heat of the most extreme examples. Perle and Tettnang stay quiet so the concentrated malt holds center stage. Sip it slowly from a small glass.
