If you have been wanting to make beer at home, start right here. This Gose recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Flora Gose, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.

Gose is a soured wheat beer from the Harz region of Germany, seasoned with salt and coriander and left pale and cloudy. The salt and a light lactic tang give it a briny, refreshing edge that keeps the sourness in check. This version leans floral, letting the coriander and a soft herbal hop sit alongside the salt rather than hiding under fruit.

It stays low in strength and barely hopped, so the balance rests on tart against saline. Served cold it finishes dry and clean, more spritz than heavy sour.

  • This kit is built for brew-in-a-bag (BIAB), the simplest way to make all-grain beer at home. The basic brew day looks like this:

    1. Heat your water and steep the milled grain to make wort.
    2. Boil the wort, adding the hops on the schedule in the recipe.
    3. Cool the wort down quickly, then transfer it to your fermenter.
    4. Pitch the yeast and let it ferment for about two weeks.
    5. Bottle or keg, wait for carbonation, then enjoy.

That yields roughly 53 bottles of fresh Gose. It works great with our digital electric homebrew systems, which hold your temperatures for you, though any kettle and burner will do.

  • This is a recipe kit, so it includes the ingredients only. To brew it at home you will also need:

    • A brew kettle or an electric all-in-one brewing system
    • A grain bag for brew-in-a-bag (or a mash tun for a traditional mash)
    • A fermenter with an airlock
    • A thermometer and a way to chill the wort
    • Sanitizer, and bottles or a keg for packaging
