Lactic acid is the standard for lowering mash and sparge water pH without adding off-flavors. A few milliliters brings alkaline water into the ideal mash range, sharpening pale and hoppy beers and improving extract efficiency.
How to Use
- Add drops to the mash or sparge water to lower pH.
- Add gradually and measure with a pH meter or strips.
- Also used to acidify sparge water to prevent tannin extraction.
