This is a homebrew recipe kit that sets you up to succeed. This New Zealand Pilsner recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's New Zealand Pilsner, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.
The New Zealand pilsner is a young style, still provisional in the guidelines, and one of the clearest demonstrations of what the country's hops can do. It takes the crisp, pale body of a Continental pilsner and pours the fruit-forward New Zealand hop character over the top.
The result is pale gold and dry, a lager's clean malt backbone under an aroma of gooseberry, white grape, lime, and tropical fruit. It carries real bitterness, higher than most pilsners, but the hops read as juicy rather than sharp. Cold fermentation keeps everything crisp underneath.
