Brew great beer at home on your very first try. This Rye IPA recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Rye IPA, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.
Rye IPA takes the American IPA template and works a portion of malted rye into the grist, which brings a dry, peppery spice and a slick body that changes how the beer finishes. Rye has been a brewing grain in central and eastern Europe for centuries, and craft brewers found it adds a snap that cuts against sweet caramel malt. The spice sits under the hops rather than over them.
Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra push berry, stone fruit, and citrus across the rye's sharper edge. This one came together as a collaboration with Mean Brews.

A Note On Substitutions
This kit includes 2-Row Pale Malt in place of the recipe's 2-row American Pale Malt (Briess); Crystal 50 in place of the recipe's Caramel 60; Great Chit in place of the recipe's Carafoam. We stock dry yeast only, so SafAle US-05 (American Ale) dry yeast stands in for the recipe's California Ale (White Labs WLP001).
