One kit, one brew day, five gallons of beer you made yourself. This Wee Heavy recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Wee Heavy, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass.
Wee Heavy is Scotland's take on the strong ale: deeply malty, lightly hopped, and built around caramel and kettle-caramelized sugar. Scotland's cool climate never favored hop growing, so brewers leaned on malt for character and boiled the wort long to concentrate its sweetness.
Pouring copper to deep brown, it carries toffee, dark bread crust, and a faint background roast. Bitterness stays low by design, letting the malt take the lead, and the strength (nearly 9% here) leaves a warming finish with little hop interference. A single addition of East Kent Goldings is all it asks for.
