Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe

how to make apple pie moonshine recipe

In this article we'll teach you how to make apple pie moonshine. It's as much of an art as it is a science, so have a drink before you start.

A lot of folks just throw some apple juice and cinnamon sticks in low quality moonshine and call it good. We're going to teach you a better way. This recipe makes three delicious quarts of delicious apple pie shine that will impress even the most experienced connoisseur of flavored moonshine, mason jar drinks.

Here's a video, but scroll down for more details

Ingredients

  • Moonshine (at least 80 proof)
  • Apple juice concentrate
  • 2 fresh honey crisp apples
  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger
  • Orange Peel
  • Cloves
  • Allspice
  • Vanilla Bean
  • Black Peppercorn
  • Pink Peppercorn
  • Shortcut: Use Apple Pie Spice Mix

Procedure

  1. Add 6 cups of moonshine to a pot
  2. Stir in 4 (12oz.) cans of apple juice concentrate
  3. Add spices
  4. Allow to sit overnight
  5. Strain into 3 quart jars
  6. Add apples and a full cinnamon stick to each jar
  7. Share and enjoy

Pro Tips

A lot of people assume that apple pie moonshine needs to be heated in a crock pot or simmered during preparation. This is actually not the case and doing so will make apple shine that is bitter and also is lower proof and not as strong because alcohol will begin to evaporate at 174 degrees.

Always refrigerate apple shine. It's best fresh and will stay good longer if it's kept in a cool dark place.

Buy legal, store bought moonshine to stay out of trouble and use apple pie moonshine spice mix for best results.

  • I am just a beginner in the making of Moonshine. I am looking at the clawhammer equipment and don’t want to miss anything that a beginner would need. I have been looking at the 8 gallon set up and have it in my “cart” at the present time. Could you give a list of what I truly need to make moonshine – highest proof possible.
